Our academic programs focus on public health and health care administration and include undergraduate and graduate degrees. Our undergraduate programs in Health Services Management and Public Health offer a strong foundation. The 45 credit Master of Public Health (MPH) degree is offers five concentration areas: Biostatistics, Environmental Health Science, Epidemiology, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Health Policy and Management. The MPH Program is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. The Master of Health Administration degree is 51 credits in length and is fully accredited by the Council on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education. The 90 credit Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees are available in Health Policy and Management, Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
We also provide continuing education for professionals. Through the Indiana Public Health Training Center (IPHTC), a broad spectrum of educational activities using a variety of training modalities include distance learning are available at low cost. The Center, first created in 1999, served over 19,000 professionals in 2011.
Our research efforts focus on improving the health of communities. In the Center for Health Policy (CHP), established in 2006, faculty and staff collaborate with state and local government, as well as public and private health care organizations to conduct high quality program evaluation and applied research on critical health policy-related issues. The CHP serves as a bridge between academic health researchers and state and local government as well as health care organizations and community leaders.
